What to Look For When Purchasing
A Vacuum Cleaner
Airflow
A good cleaning system must have excellent
airflow at the source. Airflow is measured in cfm (cubic feet
of air per minute). While most upright vacuums have good airflow
(80-100 cfm) at the source and central systems have great
airflow at the motor, they lose a lot of airflow pressure
by the end of the hose. It is with this knowledge in mind
that we had the Miracle Mate Platinum's airflow tested at
the end of the hose. In other words, we had our
machine tested for airflow at the end where you are actually
cleaning. The results show the Miracle Mate has 114.9 cfm
at the end of the hose.
Water Lift
The next thing to look for is inches of
water lift. ("Water lift" is a type of measurement.
Do not attempt to pick up liquids with your Miracle Mate as
this will destroy the machine and may be hazardous.) This
enables you to pick up heaver particles from deeper within
the fabric. While uprights fair well in cfm, they score poorly
in inches of water lift. The Miracle Mate has more the twice
the inches of water lift than any single motor upright vacuum.
It has 100.4 sealed inches of water lift.
Powerbrush
The third thing to look at is the powerbrush
for your carpeting.
As this is the most repaired part of the average cleaning
system, quality is extremely important. Find one with 24 commutators,
it will last much longer than others. Look for a geared belt
drive. It too will last much longer and hardly ever need to
be replaced
Suction Power
Now that you've identified a machine with
great cleaning power, you want it to maintain that power as
you use it. You need to find a machine that doesn't lose suction
power as the bag or container fills up. Many cleaners claim
they don't readily lose power as their containers fill, but
that is not what we've found when testing them. If a company
makes this claim they should have a patent to protect such
an important feature. We do! Simply ask them to see it. -

Air Filtration
You will want to find a cleaning system
that does not blow a lot of dust back in the air. Air filtration
has been a big topic in the industry over the past few years
with most manufacturers cashing in on HEPA filter sales. Don't
be fooled by the hype. While HEPA filters are good at filtering
dust, all the air must pass through them to make them effective.
Additionally, most HEPA filters are tested at very low CFM,
which makes their effectiveness a moot point. At low CFM,
even a good multi-stage bag can be HEPA compliant. In a bag
type system find one that has a locking tab so you don't make
a mess and put dust back in the air upon removal. The system
should also have a good exhaust filter as harmful carbon dust
is emitted by electric motors. There are still no standards
set as to how low a concentration of dust particles is safe
for your health. We can only say that many of our customers
rave about how our system has helped their indoor air quality,
especially those suffering from respiratory problems. Here
is the "six"
step filtering process we use in the Miracle Mate Platinum.
Durability
Lastly, find a system you won't need to replace.
While plastic may be cheaper for a manufacturer and create
repeat sales, it cannot withstand the punishment of die-cast
materials. Over time, plastics tend to dry out and become
brittle. Die-casting does not. All of the plastics that are
under high-stress on the Miracle Mate are of the highest quality
and durability, and the Platinum boasts an extremely low repair
rate. We are the only cleaning system company in the world
offering a lifetime limited warranty on both the canister
motor and the powerbrush motor. Need we say more?
